Norgaard apologises to Arsenal supporters who travelled after surprise Southampton defeat

Southampton shocked the top of the Premier League table with a 2-1 victory at St Mary's Stadium, sealed by Shea Charles's goal in the 85th minute.

Norgaard commented later: "A frustrating night overall. Everyone was expecting us to claim the win today and head back to Wembley, but that is not what occurred.

"I apologise for letting down all those fans who journeyed here, they generated a fantastic vibe, and unfortunately, our performance fell short today."

"The opening half was tough, yet we enjoyed a strong spell early on when we dominated them, earning numerous corners, plenty of attempts from the box's perimeter, and this continued into the second half prior to going 2-1 down.

"We dominated proceedings during those phases. However, we failed to convert our chances, and our defence was inadequate against those two strikes."
