Newcastle Manager Howe Rejects Manchester United Speculation

On Tuesday, Eddie Howe confirmed his complete dedication to Newcastle, brushing aside rumours connecting him to the empty Manchester United managerial role.

Ruben Amorim got the boot on Monday, after managing for 14 months at Old Trafford, due to a fiery interview after his sides 1-1 result against Leeds.

The Newcastle head coach has emerged as a candidate to step in permanently for the Portuguese manager.

Links also surfaced to the Chelsea position following Enzo Marescas exit last week, with Strasbourg coach Liam Rosenior now appointed in his place.

Journalists quizzed the 48 year old Howe on Tuesday about potential lures from St James Park.

"No, not at this current time," he responded, just before his squads home fixture versus Leeds.

"The most important thing for me is happiness in the role, happiness in the job, the relationships I have with the people around me. Now, thats not always been consistently good and things can change at any football club.

"But, at the moment, I am very happy."

Now in his fifth year at St James Park, Howe guided Newcastle to their first significant honour in 56 years last season.

Newcastle sit ninth in the Premier League table, trailing a Champions League spot by only five points.

"Im 100 percent here, working as hard as I can, head down, ignoring all the stuff that you guys (the press) write, good or bad, because its irrelevant," Howe stated.

"Its about todays work and trying to prepare the team as well as we can for Leeds, so that will never change from my perspective, my commitment to my work and my job."
