Nagelsmann shows solidarity with Gnabry as Bayern forward faces World Cup absence
On Saturday evening, Bayern Munich confirmed that Gnabry will be sidelined for a prolonged duration owing to an adductor injury.
The side set to secure the Bundesliga crown offered no details regarding the length of his recovery.
German press outlets indicated on Sunday that the ex Arsenal winger could miss two to three months of action, effectively excluding him from the World Cup that kicks off on June 11.
"I am deeply sorry for Serge. The timing is especially harsh towards the season's conclusion, amid a run of vital and high stakes fixtures," Nagelsmann remarked through a statement to AFP partner SID.
The head coach, who previously guided Gnabry during his Bayern tenure, noted that he discussed matters with the 30 year old following the injury confirmation on Saturday.
"I reassured him that the whole national side stands with him. We shall aid his recovery in every feasible manner to enable a swift return to competitive play."
Gnabry has rediscovered his rhythm this campaign within Bayern's dynamic attacking unit that includes Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz. The team has reached the semi finals in both the Champions League and German Cup, while clinching the Bundesliga title could occur as soon as Sunday.
Over 21 domestic league appearances this term, he has contributed eight goals alongside seven assists, positioning him as a guaranteed inclusion in Nagelsmann's World Cup selection provided he remains injury free.
