Mourinho selects World Cup frontrunners, insists Portugal can achieve great feats

In a discussion with Sport Week publication, the ex Chelsea and Manchester United coach voiced optimism about Portugals prospects for leaving a mark at the premier global football event.

"Portugal can achieve anything," remarked the Benfica strategist.

"They boast a remarkable lineup of talents. Just last year, they secured the Nations League trophy.

"In 2016, we triumphed in the European Championship, yet this current team excels even more in technical prowess. Naturally, Carlo Ancelottis Brazil and Argentina stand out, but Portugal has the potential to claim the World Cup."

Mourinho touched on the escalating political debates linked to the event.

While FIFA leader Gianni Infantino has approved Irans involvement, demands to bar them are mounting rapidly.

Paolo Zampolli, a key advisor to ex US leader Donald Trump, firmly supports Italy taking Irans place if Middle East strife intensifies further.
