Mjallby overpower Degerfors while Hammarby hand out late defeat to Goteborg

Degerfors 1-4 Mjallby

Mjallby dropped their opening two fixtures this season, surpassing the total losses from the previous campaign, yet they have since adopted a more liberated approach, claiming four wins and a draw, with this commanding away success representing their third successive triumph.

The opener arrived only four minutes in, as a corner routine saw the ball returned for Jeppe Kjaer to rifle it into the bottom corner from 25 yards. The score reached 2-0 midway through the first half, with Abdullah Iqbal delivering a cross from the right flank and Tom Pettersson stealing ahead of his marker to guide the ball in.

Merely seven minutes later, MAIF nearly had an insurmountable lead, striking again via the right side, where Tony Miettinen supplied the deep delivery and Abdoulie Manneh connected with his head.

Degerfors sparked some optimism five minutes after the interval, as Daniel Sundgren maintained the assault at a corner by lofting the ball, and ultimately Nasiru Moro poked it over the goal line.

However, Karl Marius Aksum's team confirmed another victory six minutes before the end, when Elliot Stroud exploited space behind the backline, controlling Jesper Gustavsson's lofted pass and slotting home. Mjallby now sit fourth with 13 points, whereas Degerfors have fallen to 11th place and remain without a win in their last three outings.

Goteborg 0-1 Hammarby

Sitting two positions yet only one point above Mjallby, Hammarby netted a dramatic 94th-minute decider to notch consecutive wins for the first time this term, deepening the woes for Goteborg, who linger in the relegation zone and still seek their initial victory.

The opening period proved balanced, with each team displaying offensive ambition but lacking the precision to convert chances, though in the latter stages, the away side gradually asserted dominance, as Paulos Abraham and Nikola Vasic were thwarted by Elis Bishesari.

Victory for Bajen loomed large, materialising deep in stoppage time, when a delivery into the area was controlled by the chest of defender Rockson Yeboah, who stumbled and gifted Oscar Johansson the opportunity to square for Victor Eriksson to convert, with Yeboah's fall leaving Eriksson onside.

Vasteras 0-1 GAIS

GAIS represent yet another team climbing the standings following a sluggish beginning, now eighth after a solitary strike secured a pair of straight wins within an unbeaten streak spanning four matches, while Vasteras endured their initial home reversal since earning promotion.

The decisive moment came just past the 10-minute mark of the second half, as Rasmus Niklasson pursued a through ball and shrugged off several challengers before assisting Robert Thorkelsson, who directed it into the bottom corner.

Vasteras have tumbled to 12th after consecutive setbacks, yet both they and the eighth-placed Mackerels hold eight points.
