Mjallby get the better of Malmo again as Hammarby and GAIS in cruise control
Malmo 2-3 Mjallby
Mjallby the title holders are starting to resemble their form from the previous campaign securing consecutive victories for the first time this term and remaining undefeated over four outings with a road triumph over Malmo who suffered a 3-2 defeat in their second consecutive home fixture.
The away team struck first after just one minute with a delivery from the right flank nodded back across by Villiam Granath allowing Jacob Bergstrom to head it in.
The scoreline held at 1-0 until shortly after the interval when Abdoulie Manneh located Elliot Stroud in the centre circle and he charged forward along the left before weaving into the penalty area and smashing a superb second into the far corner.
Malmo introduced Taha Ali as their game changer and he delivered precisely that two minutes in latching onto a pass from Sead Haksabanovic and netting his opening goal of the campaign impressively. However Mjallby responded with their own smart substitution as Jeppe Kjaer entered and within six minutes delivered a swift cross that Bergstrom extended to connect with and direct into the net.
Malmo sparked renewed optimism nine minutes before the end when the positions swapped with Ali laying off to Haksabanovic on the edge of the box and he blasted through the defenders yet it proved insufficient for Malmo who now share 10 points after six matches with their opponents from today.
Elfsborg 1-1 AIK
Elfsborg sit a single point ahead in third position but that advantage marks their sole return from the last two encounters following a 1-1 stalemate against AIK after an unexpected setback against Kalmar previously.
Both strikes occurred early in the contest and just a minute apart with the hosts going ahead as a driven pass into the box from Frederik Ihler was steered in by Ari Sigurpalsson in the eighth minute before AIK responded immediately when Bersant Celinas delivery was headed forcefully past the keeper by Zadok Yohanna.
This result enabled the team from Solna to halt a sequence of two losses although they continue to show erratic results with a pair of victories two stalemates and two reversals so far.
Hammarby 3-0 Vasteras
Hammarby returned to form with three goals in the latter period handing newly elevated Vasteras their initial defeat in three outings while the visitors hold a secure spot in the middle of the standings.
A couple of stalemates had cooled an enthusiastic opening for Bajen and it seemed headed the same way until the 67th minute when Hampus Skoglund found Victor Lind some 25 yards from goal and the high profile acquisition unleashed a stunning first touch effort into the upper corner.
The second came rapidly six minutes on as Victor Erikssons header struck the bar but Vasteras could not recover the ball and Paulos Abraham smashed in the rebound. Hammarby completed a dominant close to the match when Montader Madjed bent in the third with four minutes remaining.
GAIS 4-0 Orgryte
The Gothenburg local clash proved overwhelmingly in favour of GAIS who claimed their initial success of the season extending an unbeaten streak to three while Orgryte have collected only a single point across their previous four.
The breakthrough arrived at the 33rd minute as Max Andersson drifted inside from the right and placed his shot precisely into the near post lower corner and the advantage grew almost immediately after the restart with Samuel Salter converting a volley from Anderssons headed chance.
The contest was effectively decided six minutes further on when the Mackerels received a spot kick which Joackim Fagerjord dispatched then the tally was sealed in the 90th minute as Oscar Pettersson guided the ball home from close range inside the area.
