Milan squander lead in Parma draw yet stay level with Serie A frontrunners Napoli

AC Milan sit level with Napoli atop Serie A following a 2-2 draw against struggling Parma on Saturday in a lively encounter.

Milan raced into a two-goal advantage by the 25th minute via an early effort from Alexis Saelemaekers and a spot-kick conversion by Rafael Leao, positioning them to pull two points clear of Napoli before the title holders face a tough trip to Bologna on Sunday.

However, Adrian Bernabe unleashed a stunning curled finish for Parma just before the break, cutting the gap, while Enrico Delpratos deft header later secured a fair share of the points for the home side, lifting them two points clear of the drop zone.

Mateo Pellegrino struck the upright moments prior to captain Delpratos first goal since January, as Milan endured heavy pressure from Parmas forward push after the interval.

Milan risk slipping behind on Sunday, with Roma and city foes Inter Milan lurking a point adrift, the latter hosting Lazio at the San Siro.

The visitors nearly snatched victory, but replacement Christian Pulisic and Saelemaekers spurned clear chances.

Pulisic sliced wide during a one-on-one with Parma custodian Zion Suzuki in the 76th minute, and shortly after, Saelemaekers fired over an unguarded net after evading Suzuki.

Juventus, trailing Milan and Napoli by three points, played out a barren stalemate with local opponents Torino in a match devoid of goals until Saelemaekers broke the deadlock in Parma.

The Turin giants occupy fifth spot on 19 points after a gritty yet compelling derby at the Allianz Stadium where both sides created winning opportunities.

Che Adams saw his 63rd-minute surge and fierce low shot repelled superbly by Juventus keeper Michele Di Gregorio.
