Memphis Details Recovery Setbacks and Confirms Desire to Remain with Corinthians After World Cup
Memphis has stated that he will miss this Sundays derby at Neo Quimica Arena versus Palmeiras, owing to incomplete recovery from a grade two muscle tear in his right thigh.
Through his social media update, he indicated that complications in his rehabilitation have prolonged his absence, causing him to sit out one of the seasons most crucial fixtures up to now.
"I tried hard to feature tomorrow but sadly its not feasible owing to certain mistakes… This is really hurting and disappointing.. Yet players arent permitted to voice concerns yet they bear the criticism. Thats incorrect!" he shared.
"You shouldnt merely berate players for sustaining injuries.. We must examine matters more closely and raise proper queries," he continued in the lengthy message.
Corinthians hold 16th position in Brazils Serie A standings, barely clear of the drop zone, and they have lacked Memphis since 23 March, the date he picked up the thigh issue in the clash with Flamengo.
Lately, the forward faced a reprimand for handling his mobile on the substitutes bench in that encounter, but he noted it was to liaise with the Netherlands national teams medical personnel, recognising his role as an essential part of their World Cup roster.
