Mason Greenwood found the net as Marseille dominated third-division Bourg-Peronnas with a 6-0 triumph in the Coupe de France round of 64 on Sunday, whereas Monaco narrowly overcame an all-Ligue 1 clash against Auxerre.

Skipper Leonardo Balerdi opened the scoring for Marseille, followed by Greenwood's goal in the 60th minute, with Roberto De Zerbi's team ramping up the pressure over the closing half-hour.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Igor Paixao, Bilal Nadir, and young prospect Tadjidine Mmadi also scored for the 10-time champions Marseille, who previously won the Coupe de France back in 1989.

"It was not flawless yet it proved to be a solid performance," commented De Zerbi.

"We led just 1-0 at the interval, and cup competitions often bring unexpected challenges. I approached this game with caution, but the team responded correctly."

Danish striker Mika Biereth claimed a brace to help Monaco defeat Auxerre 2-1, as Strasbourg triumphed over second-tier Dunkerque with an identical 2-1 result.

Struggling Nice halted their streak of nine straight losses by beating Ligue 2 contenders Saint-Etienne 2-1, and Nantes triumphed 5-3 on the road against third-division Concarneau.
