Manuel Neuer nearing new Bayern Munich contract as fresh details emerge

Manuel Neuer stands out as one of the greatest goalkeepers in recent times. Since moving to Bayern Munich from Schalke in 2011, this experienced keeper has secured an impressive 33 titles.

Among his achievements in a stellar career are two UEFA Champions League wins, and he nearly claimed a third this year until Bayern were eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain in last week's semi-finals.

At 40 years old and approaching the end of his playing days, there was uncertainty about Neuer's plans before the summer break, yet the Germany star seems set to extend his stay at the club by another season.

As per Fabrizio Romano, negotiations for a deal running to June 2027 have reached the "final stages" over the past 10 days. Legal teams from both parties must give their okay, followed by a meeting with the board, after which he will sign the agreement.

In the 2025/26 campaign, Neuer has featured in 39 matches in all tournaments, letting in only 36 goals while keeping 11 shutouts.

Fans will be delighted by one last season with the Bundesliga powerhouse, and it would be ideal if he retires with a third Champions League trophy in 2027.
