Logical stance: PSV sets sights on 75 million euros for key talent Ismael Saibari
At 25 years old, Saibari stands out as a major force in the Eredivisie, with 14 goals and 8 assists to his name, contributing to PSV clinching the Dutch league crown at a record early stage.
PSV director Earnest Stewart insists that Saibari should only depart for 70 to 75 million euros, aligning with comments from manager Peter Bosz during the press conference after their 4-3 triumph against FC Utrecht last Saturday.
"Word around the clubs suggests the fees demanded for certain players. He ranks among the elite in the Dutch league, so expecting a substantial sum feels entirely reasonable. That just makes sense to me," Stewart shared with ESPN.
"In the end, developments will show what offers arrive, yet his status as a premier performer in the Eredivisie is evident. We are not releasing him without due compensation.”
Proceeds from Saibari's potential sale would fund a successor for team captain Jerdy Schouten, according to Stewart. Schouten suffered an ACL rupture in the match versus FC Utrecht, leading to an extended recovery and absence from the forthcoming FIFA World Cup.
“Jerdy sustained the knock on Saturday, with the championship secured the next day. By Tuesday now, further updates will emerge soon. Clearly, he faces time on the sidelines, requiring us to adjust accordingly.”
