Liverpool Salah injury less severe than initially thought with possible return before end of season

Mohamed Salah was taken off in Liverpool's 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace after a suspected hamstring problem raised concerns about missing the remainder of the season and his future at Anfield, given the Egyptian star's planned exit at the close of the current campaign.

Ibrahim Hassan, Egypt's national team director, stated that Salah would require four weeks of rehabilitation for a hamstring tear, ruling him out for the season prior to the World Cup, although the club has now clarified the issue as a minor muscular strain.

"Liverpool FC confirms Mohamed Salah is set to be available for matches again before this season wraps up," the club declared in an official update.

"The condition that prompted his substitution has been identified as a minor muscle injury.

"That said, Salah is forecasted to resume playing before the 2025-26 campaign concludes and prior to his summer transfer away from the Reds."

Nicknamed 'The Egyptian King', Salah holds the third spot on Liverpool's all-time scoring chart, boasting 257 goals across 440 matches.

The team currently occupies fourth position in the league with 58 points and will travel to face Manchester United this Sunday.
