Le Mans promotion to Ligue 1 delayed as Bastia fixture gets halted

Le Mans enjoyed a 2 0 advantage when Milan Robin netted in the 91st minute, sparking chaotic outbursts from Bastia supporters in the stands, given their demotion to the third tier was already set.

"The game between SC Bastia and Le Mans FC has been halted and will not restart," Ligue 2 declared in a message on X.

"An LFP disciplinary panel will gather soon to rule on the fixtures outcome."

Le Mans has drawn prominent backers lately, with tennis icon Novak Djokovic alongside ex Formula One pilots Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen taking shares through Brazilian firm OutField last year.

Thibaut Courtois, the Real Madrid and Belgium custodian, further backed the team in February via NxtPlay Capital, the venture he helped launch.
