Late Toulouse leveller sees Monaco miss chance to move into Ligue 1's top six

The Red and Whites displayed strong determination right from the start, launching a rapid assault that swiftly challenged the home sides backline.

Merely five minutes into the match, Maghnes Akliouche unleashed a shot towards goal which Guillaume Restes expertly deflected over the crossbar, and then the away team capitalised on their immediate follow up, with Jordan Teze rising to head in a precise cross from Simon Adingra for his initial Ligue 1 goal this term.

Toulouses defence appeared disorganised, and Adingra came close to scoring when Restes blocked his attempt from near range just before the 15 minute stage.

Monaco increased their lead with clinical precision at the 18 minute mark, courtesy of an exceptional top corner strike by Lamine Camara.

Although not at their sharpest, Carles Martinez Novells team squandered an opportunity to reduce the margin during the first halves midpoint, as Jacen Russell Rowes shot sailed wide from an advantageous position where he could have done more.

Following a subdued opening to the second period, the game regained momentum shortly after the 60 minute point when Toulouse earned a route back.

Dayann Methalies finely judged pass in front of goal reached Russell Rowe within the area, and the Canadian player converted without error, powering the ball beyond Lukas Hradecky into the net to create a tense conclusion.

As the final whistle approached, it seemed Toulouse might fail to find a tie, but Emersonn intervened decisively, materialising in the ideal spot during the 90th minute to net a thrilling equaliser and secure a 2 2 draw, much to the joy of the local fans.

The Red and Whites hold seventh position in the Ligue 1 rankings, three points adrift of fourth placed Lille OSC with the campaigns end approaching. Toulouse, in contrast, advance to 10th after snapping a sequence of three straight league losses.
