Juventus Part Ways with Coach Tudor Following Recent Slump

Juventus dismissed head coach Igor Tudor on Monday following a 1-0 loss to Lazio, which left the Serie A side with only five points from their previous five outings.

Massimiliano Brambilla, the men's first team coach, will lead the side from the touchline in Wednesday's clash against Udinese, according to the Turin based outfit.

"Juventus FC confirms that Igor Tudor has been removed from his role as head coach of the men's first team, together with his support staff of Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic, and Riccardo Ragnacci," the statement read.

"The club expresses gratitude to Igor Tudor and his full team for their commitment and professionalism during the recent months, and extends best wishes for their upcoming endeavours."

The team currently occupies eighth place in Serie A, trailing leaders Napoli by six points. In the Champions League, they rank 25th among 36 teams, having managed one draw and two defeats in their opening three fixtures.

The 47 year old former Croatia international and centre back, who once featured for Juventus as a player, assumed the managerial position in March succeeding Thiago Motta.

Juventus have failed to secure a victory since September 10, enduring eight consecutive games without a win, and have drawn a blank in their last four matches.

Under Tudor's guidance, Juventus recorded ten victories, eight draws, and six losses overall. This dismal streak marks one of the club's poorest periods in recent times, coming after a busy summer transfer period where they invested 130 million euros (151 million dollars).

New signings featured wingers Francisco Conceicao, Nico Gonzalez, and Edon Zhegrova, alongside centre backs Lloyd Kelly and Pierre Kalu. Striker Lois Openda joined on loan, while Jonathan David arrived on a free transfer.

According to reports from Sky Sport Italy, Juventus are keen to appoint Luciano Spalletti, the former Napoli and Italy manager, as his replacement.

Spalletti was relieved of his duties by the Italian football federation in June.
