Jude Bellingham buys minority stake in The Hundred franchise Birmingham Phoenix
The midfielder from Real Madrid is set to acquire a 1.2 per cent stake, with his primary emphasis on initiatives for community involvement and social initiatives. Warwickshire continues as the primary owner holding 50.4 per cent of the shares, while Knighthead Capital Management retains 48.4 per cent.
"I feel like I owe the city something," stated the 22 year old in an official release.
"I was lucky during my childhood to have choices between cricket and football, yet many young people lack such chances. It matters greatly that by participating in this, I can highlight possibilities for children, making it all the more worthwhile."
The tournaments sixth edition, featuring the 100 ball structure, is scheduled from 21 July until 16 August.
