Jamaica Secure 4-0 Victory Over Bermuda to Lead World Cup Group While Curacao Draws

Jamaica secured a convincing 4-0 win against Bermuda on Tuesday, taking control of Group B in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, while Curacao dropped to second place following a 1-1 draw at home to Trinidad and Tobago.

With nine points from their remaining two games, Jamaica hold a one-point advantage over Curacao, and Bermuda have been eliminated after suffering four consecutive losses.

Trinidad and Tobago maintained their qualification aspirations through the draw at Curacao's Ergilio Hato Stadium, earning them five points in total.

The co-hosts United States, Canada, and Mexico from CONCACAF have already advanced to the tournament.

The remaining 12 teams are organised into three groups, where the group winners will also earn spots in next year's event.

The top two runners-up, based on their records, can still progress through inter-confederation playoffs.

In Kingston, Jamaica opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Bermuda's centre-back Dante Leverock unfortunately turned a cross into his own goal.

Just two minutes later, Bobby De Cordova-Reid netted the second, and Shamar Nicholson extended the lead to 3-0 before the break for the home side.

Dujuan Richards sealed the comprehensive win in the 76th minute.

Over in Curacao, Kenji Gorre put the home team ahead in the 19th minute with an excellent right-footed strike into the top right corner, but Tyrese Spicer levelled the scores for Trinidad and Tobago in the 58th minute.

In Group A, Panama's Ismael Diaz netted in the sixth minute of added time in the second half to salvage a thrilling 1-1 draw against table-topping Suriname.

Richonell Margaret had earlier put Suriname in front with a right-footed effort into the bottom left corner on the 21st minute.

This result leaves Panama tied at the summit of the group on six points with the same goal difference, though Suriname hold the edge due to one additional goal scored.

Guatemala sit one point further back in third after Oscar Santis found the net in the opening minute of the second half, securing a 1-0 triumph for them away to El Salvador.
