Italian International Raspadori Transfers from Atletico to Atalanta

Italian midfielder Giacomo Raspadori has signed with Atalanta, merely six months after departing Napoli to join Atletico Madrid, where he struggled to secure a regular spot.

"Giacomo Raspadori marks Atalanta's seventh acquisition for the 2025-26 season. The Nerazzurri have completed his permanent move from Atletico Madrid," the club declared in a statement issued Thursday night.

The exact cost of the deal was not revealed, although Italian media reports suggest it amounts to 22 million euros (25.5 million dollars).

Last August, Atletico spent between 22 and 26 million euros to bring in Raspadori, but he recorded just two goals across 15 matches, with none in La Liga and only one start in the competition.

Hailing from Sassuolo's youth setup, Raspadori claimed two Serie A crowns during his time at Napoli from 2022 to 2025, where he tallied 18 goals in 109 outings over various competitions.

Interest in the player was also noted from his previous outfit and Roma.

Boasting 11 goals from 45 caps with Italy, Raspadori links up with a team experiencing upward momentum since Raffaele Palladino took over from Ivan Juric as head coach in November.

Atalanta, who briefly occupied 13th in Serie A, now sit seventh thanks to their recent run of three straight wins. They rank fifth in the Champions League group stage on 13 points, prior to the last two fixtures.
