Inter Miami bolster squad by signing Canadian keeper Dayne St Clair

Inter Miami, the club featuring Lionel Messi, have added Canadian goalkeeper Dayne St Clair to their roster. He earned the title of Major League Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year for 2025, as announced by the MLS Cup holders on Sunday.

St Clair joins from Minnesota United, where he excelled by securing 42 shutouts in 159 games across various competitions since his debut with the team in 2019.

Now 28 years old and a free agent following the end of his deal with Minnesota United, he boasts 18 caps for the Canadian national side and aims to solidify his position as the number one choice for the 2026 World Cup, jointly hosted by Canada, the USA and Mexico.

The club confirmed his contract runs until the end of 2026, including a clause to prolong it up to June 2027.

Miami are enhancing their lineup, which, guided by Messi, seeks to retain their inaugural MLS Cup victory from December.

Over the past few weeks, Inter Miami have brought in Argentinian defender Facundo Mura and Spanish player Sergio Reguilon, the latter set to fill the left back role vacated by the retiring Jordi Alba.

Additionally, the team has extended the contract of Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez for one more year and activated the buy option for Argentinian midfielder Rodrigo de Paul.
