Injury to Davies casts shadow over Canada's World Cup chances as defender sidelined for three weeks
Davies entered the pitch as a second-half substitute in Wednesdays clash with PSG and has been battling muscle issues all season. Bayerns medical staff announced on Friday that the full-backs involvement with the club for the remainder of the season is essentially concluded.
The player has only notched up six starts in the Bundesliga this term and has failed to last the full 90 minutes in any fixture since February.
Having been eliminated from the Champions League semi-finals Bayern the German title holders now face just three games left in their schedule including the Cup final versus Stuttgart on 23 May.
Yet this news hits Canada at the most unfortunate moment as they prepare to co-host the World Cup kicking off on 11 June. The 25-year-old leads his nation as captain and they will launch their group phase against Bosnia the following day on 12 June.
Davies has endured a growing list of injuries this season already sitting out international friendlies versus Iceland and Tunisia back in March on account of a hamstring problem.
