Harry Maguire from Manchester United set to skip Chelsea match following one-game suspension for misconduct

The 33 year old England player, who put pen to paper on a fresh deal earlier this month to remain at Old Trafford through to 2027, faced charges following his ejection during the 78th minute of Manchester Uniteds 2-2 stalemate away to Bournemouth last month.

The Football Association stated that Maguire was accused of behaving improperly and or employing offensive or derogatory language and or actions directed at the fourth official after his sending off.

He pleaded guilty to the allegation and received a 30000 pound penalty as well.

Manchester United must also cope without their Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez, sidelined for the teams upcoming three fixtures against Chelsea, Brentford, and Liverpool after earning a straight red for violent play during Mondays 2-1 loss at home to Leeds United.

Martinez received his marching orders in the 56th minute after grabbing the hair of Leeds forward Dominic Calvert Lewin.

Sitting third in the league table with 55 points after 32 outings, United head to face Chelsea, who occupy sixth spot, on Saturday.
