Harry Maguire Eager to Join Thomas Tuchel's England Team for World Cup

Maguire got called up again last month for Englands friendlies versus Uruguay and Japan. This was his initial return to the national side since appearing in 2024.

The defender is up against tough rivals like Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi, John Stones, and Trevoh Chalobah for a spot in the lineup. Still, he expressed a strong desire to take part in the event, scheduled from June 11 until July 19.

Maguire just inked a fresh deal with United, securing his position at Old Trafford through 2027, plus a possible extra year. He mentioned that the team must bring in quality players over the summer to set themselves up strongly for the upcoming season.

England find themselves in Group L alongside Croatia, Ghana, and Panama. Their first match will be versus Croatia on June 17 in Dallas.
