Haaland declares Manchester City ponder trophies daily after straightforward Brentford victory
The triumph against the Bees has narrowed Arsenal's advantage to only three points, while the North London club gears up for their encounter with West Ham later today.
Manchester City require Arsenal to lose ground in at least one of their last three matches to stand a shot at overtaking them for the Premier League crown, yet the team must keep winning all their upcoming fixtures too.
The forward, who scored once and set up another during Saturday's match, addressed the media afterwards and highlighted the constant drive within the squad as they chase additional accolades this term.
“Playing for Manchester City means you consider titles every day,” the goalscorer explained.
“Securing a 3-0 victory feels great,” Haaland noted once the game ended. “We nearly converted more today but fell short on the final touch. We generated plenty of opportunities and struggled to finish several crosses. Brentford put up solid resistance and they are a capable outfit. No match in the Premier League is straightforward, so we are pleased with the outcome.”
Regarding his strikes this campaign: “I focus on fulfilling my role, and reaching 26 goals exceeds last season's tally. That works fine.”
Manager Pep Guardiola urged “come on you Irons” during his media briefing after the game, with attention shifting to West Ham's showdown versus Arsenal, hoping the strugglers can deliver an upset for the Spanish coach and his players.
