Guardiola maintains optimism for Manchester City comeback against Real Madrid

Pep Guardiola maintains that numerous possibilities exist as Manchester City seeks to reverse a 3-0 disadvantage versus Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Manchester City confronts a formidable challenge to salvage their round of 16 matchup at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, following a substantial loss to the continental powerhouses in last weeks initial leg at the Bernabeu Stadium.

However, City coach Guardiola, during his pre-match media briefing on Monday, stated: Its a football match, numerous events can occur.

"We have to concentrate and attempt to secure victory in the match and then observe the outcome. I lack a particular strategy, just attempt it."

Guardiola has chosen to forgo training the day before the fixture as the squad recuperates from the travel to Madrid and their 1-1 stalemate with West Ham on Saturday, which undermined Citys prospects in the Premier League title contention.

"Training would not enhance us significantly and time for preparation is limited," Guardiola remarked. "I would rather have them resting at home."

The Spanish coach, renowned for his achievements as both player and manager with Real Madrids fiercest competitors Barcelona, continued: "We shall conduct training tomorrow (Tuesday). We will reach the venue at 2:00 pm (1400 GMT), loosen up the limbs slightly and proceed. I have implemented this approach two or three times already this season."
