Gerrard Pique, FC Andorra owner, gets six-match ban after angry rant at referees
The RFEF announced in an official release that Pique faces an additional two-month suspension from all formal football engagements.
After FC Andorra suffered a 1-0 defeat at home against Albacete last Friday, referee Alonso de Ena Wolf documented in his official report that Pique had yelled aggressively at the game officials, as covered by Spanish news sources.
Several other team executives participated in the confrontation, notably Andorra president Ferran Vilaseca and sporting director Jaume Nogues. Vilaseca has received a four-month ban. Nogues, similar to Pique, has been hit with a six-game ban and a two-month prohibition.
The RFEF disciplinary panel further mandated that Andorra must shut down its presidential lounge and VIP zones for two fixtures, while also levying a 1,500 euros ($1,762) penalty on the team.
The setback from Fridays match has significantly harmed Andorras prospects for the promotion play-offs, leaving them eight points behind the top six spots with just four games remaining.
