Fulham Overcomes Tottenham as Manager Frank Faces Intense Pressure

Issues for Thomas Frank piled up after Tottenham suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss to Fulham on Saturday, which worsened their poor performance at home this year.

Franks team began terribly when Kenny Tete gave Fulham the lead, followed by Harry Wilsons excellent goal that capitalised on a major error by goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

The Spurs supporters jeered their team at the break, and even though Mohammed Kudus pulled one goal back in the second half, more boos rang out at the end.

Having secured just three victories in their past 13 matches across all tournaments, Tottenham now sit in 10th position in the Premier League table.

Earlier this week, Frank expressed belief that Tottenham's form at home would soon improve, yet they have managed only three league wins in north London during 2025.

Tottenham have not won a Premier League home game since the first matchday, and overall, they have triumphed in four of 10 fixtures before their home crowd this season.

The recent 4-1 defeat to rivals Arsenal and a 5-3 loss against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League midweek have heightened the demands on Frank to resolve their home struggles.

Fulham entered the game with a single point from their last five outings, seeming like a perfect chance for Tottenham to regain momentum.

However, a third loss in a row has put the former Brentford manager under scrutiny regarding his capacity to outperform predecessor Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian departed after clinching the Europa League last term, thereby halting Tottenham's 17-year wait for silverware.

Tottenham's Decline

Critics have targeted Frank for his cautious tactics at a club renowned for its offensive style.

Tottenham did little to aid themselves, committing two errors in the opening six minutes.

They conceded first in the fourth minute as Samuel Chukwuezes pass reached Tete unmarked near the box, and the defender fired a low shot that took a deflection off Destiny Udogie into the net.

Just two minutes on, Franks frustration grew with Vicarios awful blunder.

Vicario dashed out unnecessarily and botched his clearance, allowing Wilson to curl a beautiful finish into the unguarded goal from the right side.

Frank appeared pale on the sidelines while Vicario endured chants of disapproval from angry Tottenham supporters every time he handled the ball right after conceding.

Chukwueze nearly tricked Vicario again with a curling attempt that hit the posts exterior.

Micky van de Ven performed a crucial block to stop the lively Chukwueze from netting after Pedro Porros poor control let the winger break clear.

Tottenham showed more energy post interval, with Randal Kolo Muani heading narrowly past from Porros delivery.

Kudus narrowed the gap on 59 minutes by trapping the ball on his thigh before smashing a fine effort into the upper corner from close range.

Right after the scoreline changed, Frank introduced Wilson Odobert, Xavi Simons, and Rodrigo Bentancur, leading Tottenham to press Fulham relentlessly.

Lucas Bergvalls flicked header was blocked on the line by Raul Jimenez, and Kolo Muani's clever heel pass rolled just wide as Fulham clung on.
