'Forever 20': Diogo Jota and his brother to be honoured by Liverpool with Anfield memorial
The sculpture, shaped like a heart and named "Forever 20" to nod at Jota's shirt number, has seen that number retired across the entire club setup, from the women's side to the academy squads.
Additionally, the tribute will feature Silva's number 30 jersey from his days at Penafiel in Portugal's second tier.
"It will be positioned on a plinth made of Granby rock-faced stone, with a laser-engraved message honouring the two brothers, and built right into the plinth are numerous items from the tributes fans placed at Anfield," the club announced in a statement released on Monday.
Jota contributed to Liverpool's Premier League triumph in the most recent campaign, while also lifting the FA Cup in 2022 and the League Cup in both 2022 and 2024 during his time with the Merseyside outfit. Across 182 outings, he netted 65 times for the team.
Prior to the opening fixture of the 2026 Premier League season, Liverpool paid respects to the Portuguese striker through a minute's silence just before the match against Bournemouth got underway.
