FC Porto announces Rodrigo Mora injury sidelining him from Portugal call-up
Rodrigo Mora, who was replaced at the interval during the Europa League round of 16 return fixture against Stuttgart which ended 2-0, has sustained a muscular problem in his left thigh that will stop him from reporting to the national squad, according to the Dragons announcement.
The team got back to sessions on Friday morning shortly following their victory over Stuttgart from the previous evening. The emerging midfielder exited the encounter at the break due to thigh discomfort and looks set to sit out the upcoming fixture versus SC Braga, whereas goalkeeper Diogo Costa, the star performer on the night, completed the contest despite back discomfort.
The clubs medical update lists Diogo Costa for lower back pain management, Nehuen Perez on limited sessions, Rodrigo Mora receiving care for a left thigh muscular issue, Luuk de Jong on treatment plus gym sessions, and Samu also on treatment plus gym sessions, the clubs message added.
Not long ago Roberto Martinez revealed the roster for the concluding warm-up games before the 2026 World Cup, including Rodrigo Mora and Diogo Costa in the selections.
The playmaker is now set to miss out on the Spanish managers plans, though the goalkeeper should arrive at the camp on Monday.
FC Porto will start training again on Saturday ahead of their match against Braga in the 27th matchday of Liga Portugal.
