Eddie Howe Delighted Newcastle Retained the Full Package Osula

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe expressed his support for William Osula on Tuesday, stating the forward could develop into the full package, and voiced his gladness that the player stayed at the club beyond deadline day.

Reports suggested Eintracht Frankfurt were ready to finalise a deal for the 22 year old during the transfer period, yet Newcastle halted negotiations.

This term, Osula has secured more playing minutes than anticipated, mostly from the bench, following a knee problem for high profile arrival Yoane Wissa while on international assignment.

When questioned on how near Osula was to departing St James Park, Howe remarked, We are pleased it fell through especially since Yoane got injured and Will plays a key role.

We trust his abilities. He possesses pace, as evident from his recent substitute appearance, he is rapid and physically strong.

Moreover, his improved approach in training sessions has brought greater understanding and awareness of handling match scenarios.

He has grown from this and now enters the field appearing as the full package.

Newcastle face Tottenham in the League Cup round of 16 on Wednesday, where Osula could earn a uncommon starting spot after netting two goals in the prior match versus Bradford City.

The Danish player has only begun one Premier League fixture this season, with most outings as a replacement for Nick Woltemade.

Hes an exceptional athlete, Howe continued.

At present he is making brief impacts, we would prefer he maintains that over extended periods, a challenge indeed, but his fitness suggests he can achieve it.
