Desire Doue sidelined with injury during PSGs draw against Lorient in Ligue 1

Paris Saint Germain forward Desire Doue had to be stretchered off the pitch after picking up an injury during Wednesdays 1-1 stalemate in Ligue 1 against Lorient, coming just seven days before their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

The young player went down in pain clutching his right thigh around the 60 minute mark and was subsequently stretchered away from the action.

He had just returned to full training following an earlier issue while on international duty with France back in September.

The 20 year old netted twice in PSGs 7-2 thrashing of Bayer Leverkusen in their previous Champions League match, making his possible unavailability for the Bayern game on November 4 a major setback for Luis Enriques side, the current European title holders.

Nuno Mendes gave PSG the lead in the 49th minute in their away fixture in Brittany, but Igor Silva equalised almost immediately afterwards.

PSG maintain their position at the top of the Ligue 1 standings with a two point advantage, as second placed Lens suffered a 2-0 defeat at Metz thanks to a brace of late strikes from Gauthier Hein, who was then dismissed for the home team.

PSGs lead at the summit might not last long if Marseille manage to overcome bottom of the table Angers in their later match on Wednesday.

Elsewhere in the opening fixtures, Nice secured a 2-0 victory at home against Lille, while Le Havre triumphed 1-0 over Brest.
