Cristiano Ronaldo Suffers Hamstring Injury But Set to Recover for 2026 World Cup
The Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo has sustained a hamstring tendon strain, according to an announcement from his Saudi club Al Nassr on Tuesday, yet his involvement in the 2026 World Cup remains on track.
Various news reports indicate that the 41 year old Portugal captain faces a layoff of two to four weeks, giving him ample time to regain full fitness before the tournament begins on 11 June in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Al Nassr noted that the ex Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus star "has begun a rehabilitation programme and his status will be reviewed daily."
Aiming for a groundbreaking sixth World Cup outing, Ronaldo picked up the injury in a Saudi Pro League fixture against Al Fayha last month.
