Cole Palmer out for three further Chelsea fixtures due to fractured toe

Enzo Maresca, Chelsea manager, revealed on Friday that the club and England attacker Cole Palmer faces absence from two Premier League encounters plus the Champions League meeting with Barcelona next week, following a toe fracture.

The 23 year old, recently resumed training after a two month layoff from a groin issue, sustained the knock in his residence.

He seems to have bashed his toe against a door during the night.

Palmer faces time away for the Saturday away fixture at Burnley, the Tuesday home clash against Barcelona, and the subsequent weekends Premier League outing versus toppers Arsenal.

Maresca stated, "He is certainly unavailable for tomorrow, Barcelona, or Arsenal."

"Sadly, an incident occurred at home when he struck his toe, though it is minor, but he will not return within the next week."

Palmer notched a double in Chelseas July Club World Cup final victory over Paris Saint Germain and remains poised for a vital role in Englands squad come next years World Cup.
