Cole Palmer Content at Chelsea Amid Homesickness Rumours, Claims Rosenior

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior stated that Cole Palmer is still "very happy" with the team, even amid suggestions that the 23-year-old feels homesick while living in London.

Born in Manchester, Palmer transferred to Stamford Bridge from Manchester City back in 2023 and rapidly emerged as the Blues primary star across his opening two campaigns in the capital.

However, Palmer has faced persistent injury issues this term, which have curtailed his contributions.

"I have spoken with Cole several times, and he appears very content to stay here," Rosenior commented on Friday.

"He forms a vital element of our future strategy. He is an exceptional talent. All athletes encounter challenging periods in their careers due to injuries. This does not diminish his skill level."

Palmer netted from the spot and completed the entire match in the 2-0 triumph against Brentford just last weekend.

Yet, the England forward missed out on Wednesdays Champions League success against Pafos because of a continuing groin issue.

Palmer has resumed training and could be available for Sundays away fixture at Crystal Palace.

Still, Rosenior indicated that he must keep limiting Palmers playing time until he regains complete fitness.

"My responsibility, and that of the club, is to help him reach a point where he can reliably deliver at the standard he desires," Rosenior continued.

"During the Brentford match, there was clear frustration, not from any lack of satisfaction, but because discomfort prevented him from operating at his desired level for the team.

"He is a fine young man, but we must ensure we manage his recovery properly. That is why he did not play in the most recent outing."

Chelsea hold sixth position in the Premier League, merely two points behind fourth-placed Liverpool in the race for qualification to next years Champions League.
