Cole Palmer addresses departure speculation: 'Staying put at Chelsea'

The young forward at 23 has faced speculation about a potential transfer to Manchester United lately, amid claims he longs for his hometown.

Despite battling injuries throughout the campaign, Palmer has notched up nine goals along with one assist across his 21 appearances in the Premier League.

In a chat with The Guardian, he firmly stated his commitment to remaining at Chelsea and expressed enthusiasm about the potential new signings this transfer window.

Regarding the gossip, he remarked: "People are always chatting.

"It makes me chuckle when I read it. Manchester is where I grew up, my whole family lives nearby, yet I do not feel homesick. Perhaps after a few months away I might, but once I am back, it seems there is little drawing me in.

"I have zero intentions of departing Chelsea. Plenty remains to achieve this season. The FA Cup semi-final versus Leeds awaits, and securing a Champions League place would boost our chances of bringing in key targets.

"Discussions with the owners have been positive, they are confident in the squad capable of delivering. Reece would not commit to a six-year deal without talks with the board and executives.

"Reece and I have had extensive conversations on our requirements, desired recruits, and necessary changes. He would not extend his terms without clarity on the direction."
