Chivu confident Inter can overturn Bodo/Glimt deficit in Champions League

On Monday, Cristian Chivu expressed confidence that his Inter Milan squad is capable of reversing a two-goal disadvantage versus Bodo/Glimt to advance to the Champions League round of 16.

The team suffered a 3-1 defeat in Norway during the previous week, putting them at risk of following Italian title holders Napoli out of the continents top club tournament.

"We do not face any pressures, just a responsibility. Our task is simple, to step onto the field and perform as we are capable," Chivu commented to journalists before the upcoming Tuesday encounter at San Siro.

"We must approach it believing that we are the side able to achieve this comeback... Maintaining belief in our abilities and assurance is crucial.

"To stand any hope of progressing from the playoffs, we must deliver peak performances."

Without their leader Lautaro Martinez up front, Inter face challenges, and Chivu offered no news on star midfielder Hakan Calhanoglus fitness after ongoing muscle issues over the past few weeks.

The victors of this matchup will face either Manchester City or Portugals Sporting in the last 16 stage next month.

Bodo/Glimt have enjoyed an impressive first season in the Champions League, qualifying for the knockout rounds through surprising triumphs against Manchester City and Atletico Madrid in their concluding pair of group matches.
