Carragher brands Salah a 'disgrace' over Liverpool rant
Ex Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher described Mohamed Salah as "a disgrace" on Monday following the Egyptian forwards explosive comments directed at the Reds manager Arne Slot.
Salah claimed he felt "thrown under the bus" and admitted to having no rapport with Slot after sitting on the sidelines during Saturdays 3-3 stalemate at Leeds.
This was the third match in a row where Slot had left Salah out of the starting eleven, coinciding with the attackers dip in performance this campaign.
Following Salahs surprising tirade to the media, Liverpool removed the 33 year old from their squad for Tuesdays Champions League encounter against Inter Milan.
During his appearance on Sky Sports Monday Night Football, Carragher, who triumphed in the 2005 Champions League with Liverpool, remarked: "I considered his actions after the match to be a disgrace.
"Certain observers have viewed it as a passionate outburst. I disagree. In my opinion, every time Mo Salah pauses in the mixed zone, which has happened four times over his eight years at Liverpool, it seems planned with his representative to inflict the most harm and bolster his standing.
"He picked this particular weekend to act, and I believe he held off until after a poor outcome, with everyone at the club feeling low, to target the manager and perhaps push for his dismissal."
Salah has secured two Premier League titles with Liverpool and lifted the Champions League trophy across his memorable eight year tenure at Anfield.
Even though he penned a fresh deal in April, Salah suggested he could have already featured in his final match for Liverpool ahead of his departure for the African Cup of Nations following their Premier League fixture against Brighton at Anfield this Saturday.
Links have emerged connecting Salah to a high paying transfer to the Saudi Pro League, and Carragher continued: "Regarding his behaviour away from the field, I feel the club made the correct call by excluding him from the trip overseas. As for whether he will feature for Liverpool once more, I am uncertain.
"I want him to, since he ranks among our finest ever players, but should he persist in that manner with such declarations, and if he sits out matches, its hard to predict."
