Bournemouth confirm Marco Rose as Iraola successor at end of season

Marco Rose has agreed to a three year deal and will assume charge of the Cherries this summer following Andoni Iraola's announcement of his departure from the club after the ongoing campaign.

The German coach has been unattached since his dismissal from Leipzig in March 2025.

"The 49 year old arrives on the south coast with a wealth of experience at the highest level of European football... the club’s immediate focus remains firmly on finishing the current campaign as strongly as possible," Bournemouth stated.

Rose embarked on his managerial path in 2012 and has guided several teams including Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund.

During that period, he coached prominent current football stars like Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and Dominik Szoboszlai.

At Salzburg, Rose secured two Bundesliga crowns along with the Austrian Cup, plus the DFB Pokal and DFL Supercup during his time with Leipzig.

Bournemouth's selection of Rose follows Iraola's choice to depart the south coast upon the expiry of his contract at season's end.

The Spanish manager Iraola joined in June 2023 and has lifted the club to unprecedented levels in the Premier League.

In the previous campaign, Bournemouth ended ninth with a club best tally of 56 points while advancing to the FA Cup quarter finals.

Iraola has the team performing well once more this term, sitting eighth on the back of a 13 match unbeaten streak and eyeing a possible European spot.
