Lukasz Fabianski discussed the position he has assumed as his playing days wind down. “Currently, I serve as the third option in goal for the team, passing on my knowledge and aiding the squad. I also wish to continue mentoring at the youth setup. I find it fulfilling as it brings a sense of duty. The greatest satisfaction comes when young players implement your advice, such as timing their exit to claim the ball properly or handling scenarios in a new way,” he shared with Petr Cech.

He reflected on the time he spent clubless. “That summer proved challenging for my mind. I longed for the daily schedule, the locker room banter, and the sense of belonging to a group. As time dragged on, I increasingly sensed a loss of purpose. However, I did get chances to commentate on TV, which I surprisingly liked. It offers a fresh view of the game, requiring you to voice thoughtful views.”
