Benfica coach Mourinho denies receiving any approach from Real Madrid
The experienced Portuguese manager, who managed Los Blancos between 2010 and 2013 during an intense competition with Pep Guardiolas Barcelona, is said to feature on Madrids list of potential new managers.
Madrids present manager Alvaro Arbeloa appears likely to depart, as the club faces another season without winning a significant honour.
"Nobody from Real Madrid has contacted me. I assure you of that," Mourinho, aged 63, stated to journalists.
"I have spent numerous years in football, and I am accustomed to such rumours... yet there is no contact from Real Madrid," continued Mourinho, who secured the 2012 LaLiga championship for Real.
Real Madrids president Florentino Perez installed Arbeloa in January as a successor to Xabi Alonso, whose tenure lasted only a short period.
Real Madrid are 11 points behind LaLiga frontrunners Barcelona with five games left, and exited the Champions League after a quarter-final defeat to Bayern Munich.
"My contract with Benfica runs for another year, and that is it," Mourinho further noted, after his team suffered elimination from the Champions League play-offs against Real Madrid in February.
