Bayern Munich agree deal for PSV star Ismael Saibari

The Morocco international is poised to sign a five year contract in Munich, with Bayern Munich paying up to €55 million. The fixed fee of €50 million is expected to rise through bonuses.

This transfer could break PSV's record sale, currently held at exactly €50 million from Hirving Lozano's move to Napoli in 2019.

Vincent Kompany's side were looking for a left wing addition after the deal for Anthony Gordon collapsed. The club's recruitment team quickly turned to Saibari following his outstanding campaign with PSV, who won the league by a record 19 point margin.

Saibari claimed the Eredivisie Player of the Season award after netting 15 goals and setting up 8 others in 27 matches.

Ismael Saibari originally joined PSV from the KRC Genk academy in 2020 and made his first team debut in November 2020, coming on as a substitute for Mario Gotze against ADO Den Haag. Across 142 appearances in all competitions, he scored 42 goals and registered 28 assists.

Saibari becomes the first PSV player to move directly to Bayern from the reigning Eredivisie champions. While players like Arjen Robben, Mark van Bommel, and more recently Mario Gotze, Malik Tillman, and Ivan Perisic have represented both clubs, none had made the direct switch to the German record champions.
