Bayern confirm talks to extend Kane's contract

Max Eberl, Bayern Munich's sporting director, confirmed on Monday that the club is holding discussions to prolong Harry Kane's contract with the team.

The 32-year-old England striker, arriving at Bayern in 2023, possesses an agreement lasting until 2027.

"We're in discussions with Harry, indeed we're talking," Eberl remarked at a Bundesliga gathering in Frankfurt.

"Everyone understands that at some stage a choice must be reached," he continued.

Club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen commented on Monday: "Harry holds strong trust in us and feels at ease in Munich.

"He and his family have established themselves there. Thus we have no cause to hasten things."

Lacking a team trophy for some time, Kane ended that wait in 2025 as Bayern secured the Bundesliga.

In this season, Bayern lead the league by eight points and occupy second place in the 36-team Champions League standings.

Kane, speaking in October, indicated he could "definitely imagine" lengthening his tenure in Germany.

Kane has tallied 119 goals in 126 outings for Bayern, alongside 30 assists.

During this campaign, Kane boasts 34 goals across 30 matches. His 21 strikes in 19 Bundesliga appearances place him on course to eclipse the single-season league benchmark of 41 goals, achieved by Robert Lewandowski in 2020-21.
