The Bayern squad has clinched the Bundesliga crown and advanced to the German Cup final, yet a 1-1 stalemate against PSG at home in Munich led to their departure from Europe's top club tournament, losing 6-5 across both legs.

"It is normal to be disappointed, it was such a big goal, and it cost a lot of energy," Kompany stated during a media briefing on Friday. "But from the next day, it is only about the future.

"My role is to project that and how we must react."

The manager faced backlash for adopting an overly advanced defensive setup, which exposed vulnerabilities behind during the encounters with PSG.

Over their previous four outings across various tournaments, Bayern has let in 12 goals, though the Belgian coach insisted he has no intention of altering his squad's approach, provided they continue outscoring rivals.

With 116 goals netted already in the Bundesliga and just two fixtures left, Bayern has broken the longstanding mark for the highest tally in a single campaign, surpassing the 101 from 1971/72.

"We are very pragmatic people in Belgium. If the goal difference (in the Bundesliga) is an all-time record of 81, then you have done quite a lot so as not to lose matches," Kompany remarked.

"We win the games, and the goal difference shows that we do it with a great difference against our opponents."

On Saturday, Bayern heads to face bottom-tier VfL Wolfsburg in what is the near-final Bundesliga clash, followed by their season-closing league game versus Cologne seven days after.

Subsequently, they will head to Berlin for the German Cup showdown against VfB Stuttgart on 23rd May.

The coach emphasised the need for his players to demonstrate they have put the Champions League disappointment behind them.

"We want to show that this is already in the past and it is about what we can still achieve, not only in the next weeks but beyond," he concluded.
