Atalanta Appoint Palladino After Dismissing Juric
Atalanta revealed on Tuesday the appointment of Raffaele Palladino as their new manager, in the wake of Ivan Jurics dismissal.
The 2024 Europa League champions stated officially that the former Italy international has penned a deal lasting until 30 June 2027.
At 41 years old, Palladino started his managerial journey at Monza, initially with the youth setup, before stepping up to the senior squad in 2022 and steering them through two campaigns in Serie A.
He later took the helm at Fiorentina, achieving a sixth place in the league, only to exit abruptly last July following a single season.
Palladino steps in at a side yet to bounce back from losing their storied boss Gian Piero Gasperini, who ended his nine year stint in Bergamo during the off season to head to Roma.
The faltering Bergamo outfit has secured merely four wins so far this term, split as two in Serie A and two in the Champions League, across 15 outings.
On the domestic front, they have suffered back to back defeats and find themselves in 13th position after 11 fixtures, a mere six points clear of the bottom three.
Atalanta confirmed in a release that Juric along with his assistants were all removed on Monday, positioning them as the fourth Serie A team to alter their coaching setup this season, trailing Juventus, Genoa, and Fiorentina.
