Arteta praises remarkable Thomas Frank after his Tottenham dismissal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hailed Thomas Frank as "remarkable" following the Danish coachs dismissal from Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, yet he noted that all football managers face the risk of being sacked.

The 52 year old Frank was removed from his position after only eight months, triggered by a 2 1 home loss to Newcastle on Tuesday that positioned Spurs just five points clear of the Premier League relegation places with no victories in their last eight league matches.

This development ensures Frank will not lead the team when league topping Arsenal travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the north London derby a week from Sunday.

"It is always disappointing to hear that a fellow manager will no longer be in his role, as Thomas is a superb coach and a remarkable individual who has demonstrated his quality in the league," Arteta commented.

The Spanish coach, addressing the media in a press conference before Thursdays fixture against Brentford, Franks previous club prior to his Spurs appointment in June, continued: "However, we understand the realities of our profession.

"Our duties extend past mere performance levels, and outcomes ultimately determine our fates."

Franks exit marks him as the seventh Premier League manager dismissed this season, with ex Spurs head Ange Postecoglou enduring only 39 days at Nottingham Forest.

When questioned on whether Premier League sides exhibit excessive haste in pursuing triumphs, Arteta responded: "Circumstances vary greatly across clubs, yet it remains a constant threat.

"Ultimately, this division is intensely competitive, leaving everyone exposed since any opponent can triumph on any given day, a challenge that is genuinely difficult to navigate."
