Ancelotti Set to Forge World Cup Milestone with Brazil

No nation has claimed the World Cup trophy under a coach born outside its borders, but Carlo Ancelotti declared on Monday that "there is always a first" while pursuing victory with Brazil.

The Italian took charge as Brazil's initial foreign manager in over 60 years back in May, guiding the five time winners to secure their place in next summer's tournament.

Brazil will take on Japan in a warm up match in Tokyo on Tuesday, coming off a resounding 5 0 defeat of South Korea in Seoul just a week ago.

Ancelotti expressed his intent to etch history both for himself and his squad at the upcoming World Cup across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

"My objective is to deliver my utmost for the Brazil squad, aiming to elevate their performance to the highest level and secure the World Cup title," he stated.

"Naturally, no coach from abroad has lifted the World Cup before, yet opportunities for firsts arise in life."

Brazil endured a challenging qualification campaign, ending up fifth in the South American standings.

Ancelotti marks the fourth manager for Brazil since Tite departed after their quarter final exit to Croatia during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Brazil shone brightly versus South Korea, with teenage sensation Estevao netting a brace and Real Madrid duo Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr also finding the net.

Supporters in Brazil celebrated the triumph as a revival of "jogo bonito", though Ancelotti noted his side possesses depths beyond mere aesthetics.

"Players from Brazil possess the talent for elegant play, but one must consider the essence of what constitutes beautiful football," he explained.

"While Brazilian talents boast personal brilliance, this merges with collective effort and off ball positioning, elements crucial to the sport."

Brazil journeyed to Asia absent their forward Neymar, sidelined until at least November due to a thigh problem.

Chances are dwindling for Brazil's all time leading scorer to reclaim his spot in the lineup prior to the World Cup.

Ancelotti affirmed no doubts exist regarding Neymar's prowess.

"Should Neymar regain full fitness, he undoubtedly belongs in the national setup," he affirmed.

"A fit Neymar could grace any lineup globally."
