Ancelotti, Brazil's Coach, Affirms Neymar is Making Progress for World Cup Inclusion

Ancelotti has repeatedly stated that Neymar would be considered if he achieves full fitness, yet the forward was left out of Brazil's lineup for the recent preparatory games against France and Croatia.

As Brazil's record goalscorer with 79 strikes, Neymar has been absent from international duty since a major knee problem in October 2023, and he has faced challenges in sustaining regular appearances following his return to Santos last year.

The 2-1 loss to France in Boston led supporters to call out Neymar's name, though Ancelotti brushed it off then, emphasising that the spotlight ought to remain on the chosen squad members.

That said, the Italian coach now indicates that the Santos player is still under consideration as Brazil weighs its choices before the World Cup, scheduled from June 11th until July 19th across North America and Mexico.

"He possesses exceptional ability, and it is expected that supporters believe he could aid in securing the upcoming World Cup," Ancelotti remarked in a discussion with the French publication L'Equipe.

"The CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation), along with myself, is assessing him at present, and he possesses two more months to demonstrate his suitability for the forthcoming tournament.

"Post his knee setback, Neymar has achieved a solid recovery; he is finding the net. He must persist along this path and enhance his physical condition. He is heading in the correct direction."

Brazil finds itself in Group C with Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland for the World Cup, set to launch their effort on June 13th at New Jersey Stadium.
