AGF may secure Champions League qualification on rivals turf

AGF is experiencing a remarkable campaign that might result in claiming their inaugural Danish league crown after four decades, thereby gaining entry to prominent European club tournaments.

Yet a key issue arises. As AGFs fresh arena initiative, Kongelunden, remains in development, the squad is utilising an interim pitch in Vejlby. This setup falls short of the standards set by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).

This prompted AGF to strike a deal with Randers FC, stipulating that should the Aarhus side earn a place in European competitions, they will host their continental home fixtures at Cepheus Park, Randers standard venue for domestic games.

The arrangement confirms that the Aarhus outfit will lease the Randers setup for these European contests.

"We welcome Randers offer to share their stadium with us, despite the evident financial strain from being unable to utilise our own facility for any prospective European fixtures", remarks AGF director Jacob Nielsen.

He notes that discussions have involved several potential venues, alongside gathering feedback from the clubs supporters regarding this choice.
