19-year-old FC Midtjylland midfielder seriously injured in stabbing

The 19-year-old FC Midtjylland footballer sustained severe stab wounds and is now in a stable state following two surgical procedures. He has come round from a medically induced coma and is recovering reasonably well considering the gravity of the situation. FC Midtjylland remains in ongoing discussions with the relevant authorities while offering full support to him and his relatives, according to a statement on the clubs website.

The club has described the incident as profoundly grave.

Alamara Djabi faced a life-threatening situation that necessitated immediate surgery. A further operation followed, and thanks to the dedicated work of emergency responders and medical staff at the hospital, he is now stable. Having emerged from the induced coma, he is progressing as well as can be expected under the circumstances.

Alamara Djabi, who hails from Guinea-Bissau, is close companions with the Superligas leading marksman Franculino, with both players having joined the team in 2023.

Djabi has made two appearances for FC Midtjyllands senior side, featuring most lately during the concluding Europa League qualification stage, where he entered as a substitute towards the end of the fixture against Finlands KuPS in August 2025.

Police in Central and West Jutland were pursuing 20-year-old Moussa Habib Jensen during Monday afternoon in relation to the attack on the FC Midtjylland player.

By Tuesday morning, he had still not been apprehended, the authorities reported.

He remains on the run. Efforts to track him down have fallen short of expectations, and our probe continues, explained Susanne Kiel Nielsen, investigation commissioner at the Herning local police department.
