The Myanmar National League, also known simply as MNL, is the country’s top-flight professional league. Founded in 2009, the competition replaced the Myanmar Premier League, which ran from 1996 to 2009, as the nation’s first division championship. The MNL runs a promotion/relegation system with the MNL-2 League, Myanmar’s second division. The season kicks off at the beginning of the year, typically January.
