Xabi Alonso supports footballers objection to La Liga fixture in Miami

Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso expressed support on Saturday for the La Liga players who are opposing the leagues choice to stage a game in Miami.

Last week La Liga revealed that Barcelonas visit to Villarreal would occur in the United States on December 20 marking the initial European league match abroad.

The Spanish Footballers Association AFE announced on Friday a planned symbolic demonstration at the beginning of each La Liga encounter this weekend.

Players from Oviedo and Espanyol stood still for the opening 15 seconds of their match on Friday though television coverage omitted this moment.
